Well we got up and Donna cooked a great breakfast as I was washing the bugs off the front of the RV and cleaning the windshield. We ate and then decided that we would try the Zoo and Aquarium out and see some animals and fish. We got to the Zoo and Aquarium and should have known that we made a mistake but not me I have to pay Big Money to get in and it is just a real sad place the animals have no fresh water it is all just as green and dirty looking as it could be. Long Story short just don't go to the Zoo and Aquarium, it is real sad to see. Next we stopped in at the Talking Rocks Cavern. Great stop this is a nice cave and great people work here. We went on a short hike down to the Springs and back to the cave shop. We then headed back to the Stagecoach RV Park to feed Cooper and then walk and play with him for a while. I was then hungry and we decided to go out and eat. We went to the Wall Creek Steak house. Home of the Roll tossing. Well Rudy the roll tosser was great but the rest was very low to mid range food and very HIGH range price. We then came back to the RV and sat outside and chatted with our neighbors of a while. Then I came in to try and finish this up for the night.

Thursday and Ozark CH 17 got together and purchased 4 sheets of 3/4" plywood, had them ripped down the middle and went to work getting all the CH 17 people that wanted out. We ended up getting out 8 or 9 rigs and they went across the street to the parking lot and after the closing ceremony they headed to Warsaw to spend the night and head home today. Four of us stayed and we got around early this morning and started working on the ones that were left. Both Jerry and Tony's rig came out easy and they were off. At about 8:00am Dale and I started working and by 10:15am we had everyone pluss several extras out and were getting ready to head out our selfs. Our rig just pulled out as easy as you please, thank the Lord!! Donna, Cooper and I headed back towards Branson to StageCoach RV park for the night. We got to the park at about 1:30pm and when we checked in we decided to stay till Sunday and head out early Sunday morning. Donna and I went up to the Laundry mat and did 5 loads of cloths so we will have minamil to do when we get home. We are looking forward to a quiet night and hope to sit out under the awnind this evening. At some point in time I will learn to take pictures or more for sure..

YESTERDAY
Same rain just another day. Some of the RV'ers decided it was time to get their rigs up on dry land, so the BIG tow trucks were out in force. Looks like if we are leaving on Friday we had better make arrangements for a tow also. We will make that decision later today. Craft show and sale was yesterday and we were able to find a few things we could not live without. Then at 4:00pm the Ozark Chapter 17 had a social hour get together and we attended as we are now members of this chapter. Great group of peaple, lots of fun to be around. We spent the evening at the 49th annual Ham-O-Rama, a talent show put on by Escapees, not a bad show and it made for a good evening. Home to Cooper, and rest.

Another rainy day. The local towing company did real well today. Seems that a lot of RV's don't realize that if you spin your wheels in the grass after three days of rain you just might not be able to move at all. We saw one ton 4X4's and small cars stuck and being towed out. Made for an interesting morning watching all the mud slinging. I went to the metal detecting session. It was OK nothing special but was on my list to try. After dinner we decided to see if we could supplement our income at the Bingo game. We went and Donna won!!! a round and we came out big winners adding a whopping $2.00 to our account. Home to walk Cooper, stash our cash and watch TV for a while. We have found out that if we keep Cooper up later he sleeps later, not real sure witch is best, or even if it is worth the trouble.

Another busy day yesterday. We started it out right by going to the Market place to shop for RV goodies. Yes we found plenty. The windshield repair man came by and fixed the two chips and we are good to go. The rain came and stayed most of the day BUT! We went to the door prizes give away right before the evening entertainment and No we did not win again. The entertainment was provided by the Brett Family. They have a show in Branson,MO. and are pretty good. Another late night so poor Cooper had to go out at 10:30pm in the rain. I think he stayed mad for about an hour after that.

Well as all good blogger's I have missed a few days, it is catchup time.

First it's Happy Memorial Day to Everyone!!!

We got to Sedalia on Friday 22 May and got set up. Friday night I woke up to a hissing noise in the area of the bath room. I found that we had a water leak! I grabbed a flashlight and out to the water connection compartment and when I opened the door I was showered with water. A brass connection had broken and was spraying water in the compartment. We are lucky it was all outside. I was able to fix it right then and back to bed. OH! did I mention it was 2:00 AM.
Saturday was a day of registration and as Donna says for me to go around and Yak with the people we met in Eureka Springs in April. I did a real good job of that and also met some other real nice people and bent their ears also. I started the morning out sitting outside and having my coffee. At 8:00am the RV's started rolling in for the day 200 plus is what we were told. The pictures show our view before and after the big move in. We were real lucky though because they left plenty of space between us and the next RV and others were not so lucky. The vendor market center opened today and we spent time going through all the booths. We ordered our Escapees badges and will be able to pick them up Sunday. We also found a screen that covers the front windshield on the inside and stops 80 % UV and will allow you to see out but not in during the daylight hours. We brought it home and installed it right away and boy is it nice to have the front open and nobody able to look in. We also set up with a windshield repair man to come out to the RV and fix our rock pecks on Monday. Later we found an authentic Mexican restaurant and was it ever good. Yes I ate to much. All in all we had a busy day, but very enjoyable.
Sunday started the real nice, got my coffee and out went outside to sit and enjoy the morning and low and behold the local news paper had delivered the Sunday paper what a nice surprise. I was able to sit and read the paper and enjoy the beautiful morning. Watched the big move in again today also we were told that another 150 Plus RV's were due in. Then we were off to the Market center to pick up or badges and see what else we could find that we could not live with out. We went through an area they call the row, it is were all the escapees chapters from around the US and Canada set up booths to encourage people to come to there area and visit. We had a great talk with the people at the Christian Fellowship BOF Org. (Birds of a feather) they have morning services every morning and are a great group. We joined this organization. Then at 2:00PM we had a newcomers briefing and about 3-4 hundred met for that. We met the couple that are co-founders of SKP (escapees) John and Kay Peterson. Next we had the opening ceremony and lots of door prizes were given. Two of our neighbors both won prizes. Home for dinner and Cooper time then back to the center for the evening Door Prizes and a concert by the group New Odyssey. What a blast these three guys were great, they played thirty instruments and had a show that was just fabulous. Back home to Cooper time at around 10:00 PM. Walked Cooper and chatted with neighbors till 10:30 the in for some TV till crashing at around 11:30 Late for this OLD GUY.
Monday start of all the seminars lots to chose from. and once again we are blessed with the RAIN!! Called by the Window repair man this morning To wet to fix. Looking forward to a big day again.

Today started out great with Donna giving me a Card and Presant for my birthday. Hiking shoe's they are real nice and very comfortable.
Had a call from the Rossi's to say Happy Birthday before I could get the RV ready to move on to Sedalia, MO. Left Branson around 9:15am and arrived in Sedalia around 1:15 pm. There are about 400 hundred plus RV's here already. I think they said there would be around 1000 or more before Sunday morning. We got in line and were parked right next to a 5th wheeler and I mean next to them about 10 feet between us on one side. We have Elec,Water and sewer so we are good to go. We have met the neighbors beside us and the ones in front of us both full time RV'ers and real nice couples. Pictures of my birthday gift and the RV spot here in Sedalia,MO
More to come!!!

We were off at around 9:00am and arrived at the Branson Stagecoach RV Park at 12:00pm. Got set up on site #27 real nice park with a great swimming pool and a yard area for us to walk Cooper. We got a packet of info when we checked in and decided that we would go to a place called Branson landing over in the old town by Lake Taneycomo. A new shopping area as well as a Bass Pro Shop. We had a great Mexican lunch sitting on an outside patio by the lake. Great view and real nice weather. We walked the place until about 5:oo pm and hurried home to feel or traveling companion Cooper. He was sure glad we finally got home too.

These are the pictures of the completed flag pole and solar light. Checked it last night and it works rather well.
Getting ready to leave for Branson and then Sadelia, MO, this morning.

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Long day mowed grass about 3.5 hours then completed the flag pole by affixing a solar spot light that will light the flag at night, also made one or two other changes. Washed the RV then washed myself and we met Amy in Atkins and went to Russellville for dinner at Coltons. Home and hooked up the truck to the RV ready to pull out in the morning. I will add new pictures of the flag pole.

LT COL Evans set up a little retirement party and presentation. I have been putting off picking up this stuff for about a year and 7 months. Real glad it is completely over. My thanks to my unit for the kind words today. Tomorrow will be a busy day with last minute chores, mowing the grass etc. before we leave on Thursday.

Today has been a very special day. We had a surprise Birthday party for Leona she will be 85 on the 26th of May. She was very surprised and pleased with the party. She did get a little stern about there being so many pictures taken but all in all she had a good time. A lot of her old friends stopped in as well as a lot of family from south Arkansas. There was an enormous amount of food thanks to Aunt Fern, Marilyn, Aunt Cara and Donna. Seems that everyone had a good visit with Leona. What a great Blessing to all that know her she is. Loved by all that know here.

This afternoon was good starting with dinner at the Cross Eyed Pig. Then back to the park for the evening meeting. Started out again with singing led by Frank Risch and then another very beautiful special by Mrs. Jan Blackmon. Followed by a message from Dr. Gary Hollingsworth Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church Little Rock. Once again a very nice evening among some new friends.

Barbara Stanley the Hostess for the event.

This morning we had another fine shared breakfast. Singing with Frank Risch and special music once again from Barbara Stanley, and once a gain a beautiful song. The speaker this morning was Jeffrey W. Steed,D.Min,MBA, from the state mission office. He had a very informational talk on Senior Issues: Investments and Estate/Gift Planning. Then on to the District meetings.
The evening meal will be the group meeting and going to the Cross Eyed Pig restaurant and then back to the park for the evening session. If everything stays the same on the schedule we will have special music from Immanuel Baptist Church,LR. Then a message from Dr. Gary Hollingsworth, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church. Looks to be a real nice evening of events.

Up before day light with Cooper, but what a beautiful morning. Birds Birds everywhere. There are Geese, Ducks Song birds and Crows by the hundreds, The song birds are deep in song this morning, as the geese and Ducks are flying over the river. Just a couple of pictures, Check the DOVE out on the upper right side and facing right in the one picture. Getting ready to cook our share of breakfast for the shared breakfast.
How many sun's do you see in the top picture??

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Whow! What a great evening, the meal was once again more than one could expect. Mr. Frank Risch sang a special that was a real inspirational song. Tonight we heard a message from Robby the Director of state missions, it was a very good message.
Back to the RV and off for a walk with Cooper.
Last evening was the start of the COM (Campers on Mission)Rally. Started off with a great evening meal, a hamburger cook out. As usual at any baptist activity there was more than plenty to eat. After dinner there was singing by all and then Barbara Stanley sang a wonderful special. Dr. Emil Turner, ABSC Executive Director brought an all inspiring message. Just a real nice evening with a real nice group of good Christin folks.
Today we started out with a shared breakfast. (sort of made me nerves at first because everyone knows I don't share well especially FOOD) It turned out to be a great breakfast and more than plenty once again. Next was singing by all and then Mrs. Ginger Gilbert sang a special. The real treat came when Bro. John Wright got up and brought a great message. What a wonderful speaker and person he is. He was the Pastor at FBC Little Rock for 20 years. Great way to start the day. It was a good morning and better when we found out the COM had a store, we bought T shirts and a real nice wind breaker. Crafts for all this afternoon and then a potluck this evening. Tonight we will have the privlage of hearing Rev. Bill Brown Pastor of FBC Morrilton, as well as special music by Mr. Frank Risch. Looks like a great evening is instore.

This morning has been busy in the park I think that 1/3 of the campers are going off for the day and they ALL have set there car alarms off. Donna headed out early to meet Kristina for an appointment, so I am just staying at the park with Cooper.
I decided that I would take pictures of the vent covers I put on last evening so all would know just what I was talking about. I caught two squirrels having breakfast.

Just incase you did not know: If you click on a picture it will bring it up larger.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I decided that since it had stopped raining around 5 o clock I would install the two roof vent covers that we had bought. While I was up on top of the RV Donna was wiping up a great spaghetti and Salad for dinner. We both finished about the same time and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Walked Cooper again and then it happened. THE RAIN CAME!!!!!
Well as it has been for awhile it is raining again today! We decided to go to Camping World in North Little Rock and check out some things for the RV. We got an additional adjustable step platform for the door, it works real well and sure makes getting in and out at some places much easier. (Plus Cooper sure gets a boost from it) We also got vent covers for the roof that will cover our vents when it is raining and also allow us to have them open while traveling. That is about the extent of what is going to happen today. Sure hope we get a break from the rain tomorrow.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers in the family!
Thanks for all you do and have done.

Well we got all loaded up and off to church this morning in the RV with the Dakota in tow.
Brother Mike had a very good devotion as he called it. II Timothy CH 1 V1-5.
After church we headed North toward Maumelle State Park, to the Camper on Mission annual event. We made a stop in Conway at Coltons for lunch and ran into the Rossi family and had a real nice visit with them, a very pleasant surprise. Off again north but this time it was pouring down rain. We made the park at about 2:30 PM just right and were able to park right away. Our site is B#32 right on the AR river, a nice spot with plenty of shade and level.
We plan on being here till the 17th. If anyone would like to stop in for a visit this week feel free to stop by. I have my hopes up that it will stop raining any time now.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Well we sold the last two horses, Ariat and Maud, and all the tack today. Kind of bitter sweet. I was able to get the interior of the RV cleaned and just need to do a good clean on the windshields, and we will be ready to go after we add the groceries.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Hoping that the rain will hold off so I can get the RV ready for our trip to Maumelle state park for the Campers on Mission meeting next week. We are looking forward to seeing just what type of mission work the Campers on Mission gets involved in.
I have also been working on trying to get a calendar up on the Blog so we can list our trips in advance. Any help or advice on this would be appreciated.

Our home on the road.

This is what we will be trying to see as much of the good old USA in we can.

Starting out.

Just getting started and will try to add posts and pictures as often as possible.
